Leadership Team Jason "Gonzo" Gonzales
Mr. Gonzales is founding Principal of GONZO. Prior to forming GONZO, Mr. Gonzales was a residential development partner to a well-known real estate developer in Chicago. Prior to this, Mr. Gonzales was the Director of Acquisitions in Chicago for NOVO Development Corp, a Washington DC-based acquirer and developer of multifamily apartment buildings. He has extensive experience in property acquisitions and development, financial underwriting, debt and equity syndications, partnership structuring, project management and consulting, and currently consults to private equity firms on their investment allocations to multifamily and student housing. A successful leader, entrepreneur and real estate investor, in 2003 Mr. Gonzales was awarded the Accion Chicago Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is also the founder of two successful companies, Gonzo Enterprises, Inc and TransOne Equipment, Inc which he subsequently sold. Mr. Gonzales earned a BA in Economics cum laude from Duke University where he was a Dannenburg Scholar and a member of the crew team. He also attended the Lusk Real Estate Program at University of Southern California. He is involved in several charitable and religious organizations including, the Chicago Fellowship, Big-Brothers/Big Sisters, Compassion International, and the Wilberforce Forum where he is a 2006 Centurion. He is a Deacon-elect and member of the Moody Church in Chicago. He is also a member of the Real Estate Investment Association and Urban Land Institute. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, golf and world travel. Matthew Obradovic
Mr. Obradovic is Principal and CFO of GONZO and has over 10 years of experience in taxation, accounting, and financial planning. He is responsible for the financial analysis and due diligence of new acquisitions and development projects, and the financial administration of all active projects. In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, Mr. Obradovic is an active real estate salesperson and markets net-leased real estate investments as well as internally developed properties on a tax-advantaged basis. Mr. Obradovic's experience includes positions as Vice President and Controller at Beitler Real Estate Corp., where he was in charge of financial structuring for the firm's development transactions. Prior to this, he practiced as a tax accountant and financial planner. Prior to this, he was CFO of All Properties, Inc a multifamily real estate acquisition and management company in Chicago. Prior to his position at All Properties, he was Assistant Controller at the Tribune Companies. Matt earned a BS in Finance and Accounting from the University of Illinois-Champaign and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public accountants, and the Illinois CPA Society and is a licensed Illinois Real Estate Salesperson. |
